Little Cemetery Observations – a Photo Blog

My friend Steph is a photographer. She moved to London from New York state in January 2007 and her first flat here was in Kensal Green. One of the first places I remember her taking photographs of was Kensal Green Cemetery – a long time before I even knew the significance and history of the place in terms of old and grand Victorian life. It was probably how I began to become acquainted with the Mag 7 in the first place – through this talented lady’s photography.
2010
Fast forward 6 years and Steph is a celebrated Photographer and Blogger – her London blog Little London Observationist, all about the little things in London that you might miss if you aren’t looking for them, like street art and hidden places and corners of the city, favourite restaurants and hang outs, is increasing in popularity all the time. She keeps a Flickr page, and there’s a whole album there dedicated to her cemetery photographs, which she has kept up over the years. Below is a selection of her work, all taken between 2009 and 2011. Notice how she captures the tiny details of the cemeteries, the things the rest of us might miss if we weren’t looking for them.
