HOUSE PROUD

I gave a talk on the Cobbe portraits of Hatchlands Park, a National Trust property in Surrey. This was an entirely new event in the output of Hatchlands, a historic home built for Admiral Edward Boscawen in the 18th century.

Discovered in the early 2000s, the paintings revealed the likely bisexuality of  Henry Wriothsley, 3rd Duke of Southampton and playwright William Shakespeare. House Proud was part of a wider programme bringing performance, poetry and history in celebration of LGBT+ History Month.
